Yesterday, I made a quick trip to Bellingham and back. It was a beautiful day so I invited a friend along. We had lots of time to catch up, enjoy the scenery and stop for dinner on our way home at the Everett marina. It was a very fun day!
I was thinking the metal roofing material would go on yesterday, but I was a day early. But all the sheeting was up on the exterior walls and roof and half of the windows had been installed!
The material in the lower right of the picture is the roofing material. The bump on the roof is where the skylight will be.
The above is the spot for a library table/desk.
With the interior partitions up we now have a good idea of what the layout feels like. This is where the kitchen will be--The Kitchen Niche! The bathroom has been framed in--we are waiting for the tub/shower to arrive. The plumbing is in and on Friday the electrician will be on site.
This is the wall in the bathroom for the toilet (on the left) and sink (on the right.) All the stuff in the middle of the wall is for the heating system housed in a mechanicals closet accessed from the outside.
I met with the builder and came back home with a lengthly list of decisions to make! Plus, on Saturday, I'm heading to Oregon for two weeks. I'll spend some time in Bend in central Oregon, then off to southwest Oregon for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival! I'll return home via central Washington. I've got stops planned along the way to visit family and friends. BUT I'll have my cell phone for any Hut decisions we need to make while I'm away. Mark will be busy with hockey school!
